As Vice President of Government Relations, Michael is responsible for the day-to-day execution of our clients’ legislative strategies. Michael’s experience in packaging complex issues into concise and comprehensible goals translates into actionable plans for our clients. Since joining the firm at its inception in 2020, Michael has lobbied for our emerging technology clients, helping to educate and guide decision makers in crafting pragmatic, effective policy.

Michael advises clients on their policy objectives—and oversees the details that lead to policy wins—by carefully monitoring legislation, hearings, and regulatory processes; writing detailed political analyses; building relationships between clients and valuable stakeholders; liaising with the legislature; crafting bill language; and managing lobbying partnerships. From the initial research to the day of the vote, Michael shepherds bills through the legislative process, advocating for our clients at every step of the way.

Prior to joining Majority Advisors, Michael worked as a legislative staff member in former Assembly Majority Leader Ian Calderon’s office. Michael advised the Majority Leader on a range of issue areas including housing, education, and business, with an emphasis on technology policy issues. Michael also served as the Majority Leader’s primary liaison to California’s Blockchain Working Group and worked closely with the group to develop the policy recommendations and research enumerated in the group’s final report to the legislature.

Before his time in the state legislature, Michael was based in Buenos Aires, overseeing a B2B marketing team for an international consulting firm specializing in Cloud database services. He has a technical academic background and is a published research author on Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) studies. Michael combines that knowledge with his business and policy experience to bring a unique perspective to Majority Advisors.

Michael received a Bachelor of Science degree in Informatics from the University of Washington.
